Am I the only person who noticed that there was a lot less action and a lot more ships in this one then the rest? Not that I mind because that was one of the reasons it was one of my favorites, but it was just something I noticed. Also I think it made them seem a little more normal (which I think is good) but also didn't fill it up with to much teen drama that we forgot the plot. What do you think? Was it a good thing or a bad thing?

I must say that I enjoyed the untypical romance bits in Half-Blood Prince. They were refreshing and different and since I love romance and love I was very pleased. ^__^ Of course action is exciting and mainly the reason why lots of us adore the Harry Potter books so much but I found it great of JKR to change the plot of a Harry Potter book to let something you might want to call "teen-love" be despicted.

Half-Blood Prince was different in many aspects and I don't like all of them - but this is one I love. wink.gif

I'm not a huge fan of ships; not for this kind of series. If that was JKR's great ambition, she would have written Gossip Girls. (That is totally my assumption. I haven't read the series; I'm just going off of things I've heard about it. If that makes no sense, just plug in a different dramatic teen-age girl series.)

But anyway, while it was a little too fluffy at times for my taste, HBP also stayed true to itslelf in all its magical-world-of-Harry-Potter-ness. And let's face it; they're 16 in this book. It would have been a little odd if there weren't any teenage boy-girl issues.

I also like the Tonks/Remus storyline. You can't help but feel sorry for Remus for all his trials and sufferings. He deserves someone, and Tonks is awesome.

I think that there was a little bit too much romance in the book (which i loved, don't get me wrong) it was a compensation because in Ootp there was hardly any romance except for Harry's and Cho's kiss, it kind of went on hiatus after Gof, so HBP had to make up for that hiatus.

But I don't think the essence of the book was lost in anyway on the contrary it added humour, seeing Hermione's reaction to Ron kissing Lavander, was priceless, she was so jealous.

I liked all the romance in HBP. I could have done with less of Ron and Lavender, mostly because he's going to marry Hermione. The kids are growing up, and teenagers think about crushes and relationships more than anything else. I think it gave a little more depth to the characters because it is something that would really happen. I actually thought there were too many of the memories DD showed to Harry, but I guess we all needed to know some background info on Lord Voldemort.

I'm ok with the romance in HBP, though I think I'd prefer it if there was more action. I guess it's a sign that everyone in HP was growing up and the hormones were starting to fly!

I was quite happy with it all really, especially that fierce kiss and embrace between Harry and Ginny - so sweet and meant to be!
