I was wondering if those skilled in occlumency could shield themselves from the sorting hat if they put it on. Anybody have any ideas about this?

Outside of first years (and Harry trying it on again 2nd year), what adult would put the hat on? But I'm sure any good wizard (DD, Snape, Aurors, etc) could block themselves from having their thoughts probed.
I don't think when Gryffindor charmed the Sorting Hat it was meant for sinister means of getting at someone's thoughts to use them, but just to read their heart, if that makes sense. Good question...and I have no idea why it had to be approved there are no real spoilers anymore ;/ -------------------- IKWT!
