Okay so I finally, drumroll please, acquired a Wii and the OOTP video game. Haven't gotten it set up yet, but I'm so insanely excited. I could have gotten it before for my phone, or the PS3, but I really really wanted to do it on the Wii as I thought the controller would make the wand movements very very cool. Believe me, it was very hard to resist the temptation to just get it before as it was unbelievably hard to find a Wii. You wouldn't believe how many stores on the East Coast are completely sold out.
Anyway, I was wondering what you guys thought of this game. What platforms people have tried and which ones people think are the best. I can say that the graphics on it, from what I've seen, look awesome. And those die hard Harry Potter fans that I've talked to who have played it have all given rave reviews. The gamers themselves are mixed on it, but there are probably things in it from the books that they couldn't understand. I also got the new Zelda by the way! -------------------- What Luna Sees~~My very first attempt at fanfiction. It has turned into my own version of DH, though with a much different spin on it. Enjoy everybody!

I bet the game is even better on Wii your right the wand movements would be much cooler
I loved the game personally theres the main storyline and then theres all the little side stories that you can complete i learnt how to play chess now I really love how you can practise your spells all the time i usually forget how to do spells in long games but the continuing practise made it much easier and i became a pro at it And i loved the graphics they are just absoloutly amazing. The characters and the school really make you feel like your in the Hogwarts of the film. I can't stop raving on about this game it is just really great though i am finishing off now i can still walk around the school just exploring. Definatly the best game of the set!! -------------------- If I were the rain, That joins sky and earth that otherwise never touch, Could I join two hearts as well? |

Would the game be worth getting for other things like the Xbox 360?

It's not that good. I'd say it's a tad overrated. The 3rd was better.
Don't get me wrong, its still an awesome game, but in my opinion it's too short. You just look for the DA Members, fight at the ministry, set off swamps etc round the school... find some of Luna's belongings.. and then that's it. You're done. Now you just look for 'discovery points' which gets quite boring in my opinion. It's alright though... I just prefer doing tasks than exploring.. I'd give it a 7/10. |

I got the OOTP game for the PC - my first HP game. I got it for about 19 dollars. I was quite impressed with the graphics, though the gameplay can be improved. Being on the PC, wand movements are via a mouse or keyboard. I found that using the mouse to cast spells doesn't always work and trying to control objects under Wingardium Leviosa can be a difficult task, especially when trying to get the all 'O's for All Subjects achievement, where two subjects, Potions and Herbology use the floating spell entirely.
The other is trying to find all secrets in the game and beating the champions of gobstones, exploding snap and wizard's chess. This can get tedious, especially when you want to unlock all the 'Making of' video clips in the Room of Rewards. Other than these, it ignited my interest in HP again. -------------------- The Rock of Ages General Last Update: 28 May 2007
