I've been wondering: what happened to Hagrid and Madam Maxime? Did they get married? Hagrid was mentioned in the Epilogue as still living in his hut on the Hogwarts grounds (at least during the year) but there is no mention of her.
There was no mention of her at Bill and Fleur's wedding. Krum came from Bulgaria, but no Madam Maxime (and as I think Harry points out in the books, she isn't exactly easy to miss!)
She was in Book 6 at Dumbledore's funeral, which is the last that's mentioned.
Since the GOF movie touched upon their romance, I thought that maybe it was going to be important later on since J.K.R. has a bit of input on what to include in the movie (she advocated for Kreacher and Bellatrix being included in Movie 5 since their characters are important in Book 7)

I think I read in another topic on here that they didn't work out. I think Madame Maxim liked to live in spectacular accomodation (Beauxbatons sounds quite posh to me!) and I don't think she would've coped well in Hagrids place!
Poor Hagrid - I really hope fang is ok too

I thought that they were making it obvious that they'd get together in the books. I think Ron or Harry says something like "If they have kids, they'd be about the size of a dinosaur." Also, their romance was touched upon in the films, which I suppose could have been done for comic relief (like the scene when Hagrid is dancing with her) I was hoping they'd work out. Oh well, maybe Jo will change her mind (it's not too late, is it?)
I read the Carnegie Hall transcript and she answered that Mme. Maxime was a bit too sophisticated for him. But don't opposites sometimes attract? Look at Ron and Hermione

^Perhaps she was worried that one of Hagrid's "pets" would eat her palomino carriage horses? LOL
I did think they'd be made a couple, especially after going to the mountain giants together, and she comes to terms with her "giant" heritage after hurting Hagrid's feelings - I though all that would lead to a happy ending for them.
Yeah I agree - in the films there is a lot of romance portrayed between them - more so than in the books and it's quite sweet really

I always wanted them to be together because I always felt bad that Hagrid didn't have much of a family. But now he's got Grawp, and the trio and the Order are like his family, but still...it would have been nice. Definitely would have needed to build a bigger house though! LOL

Hmmm You know I would have really liked for Harid and Madam Maxime to end up together.. i mean geez Hagrid deserves a little romance too... But I agree with Bee they would have needed a bigger house or Hut at least.
