I would say Mcgonagal, but Flitwick seems good aswell. His classes in the books seem quite fun and he hardly gets anyone into trouble.

Ive always thought Professor Mcgonagall was the best teacher, as other people have said she's fair but strict, she has shown her softer side at times but its been at appropriate times, so you always feel as though shes in control. I also really like Hagrid and Lupin. I would love to take a care of magical creatures class! o@

From the tip of his wand burst the silver doe: She landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office, and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.

"After all this time?"

"Always" said Snape

On my opinion a good teacher must have at least some of these qualities: know (almost) everything about the subject, have a lot of respect, make students to do their best, be strict, fair and also let students know that he/she is only a human... So McGonagall, Dumbledore and Lupin are ideal teachers for me.
A propos Snape, I like him to although he seemed to be a creature without feelings and he was hardly fair... But life is not fair and it's good when people learn it as early as possible o@

I think McGonagall is the best teacher because she's stern, yet fair. And she really want's her students to suceed.

I am not afraid...I was born for this.

The teacher whose classes I most enjoy reading: Snape, hands down.

The teacher whose personality I most like: Hagrid, he's so wonderful, I'd walk a skrewt for him.

The teacher who I'd most like to be in class with: Flitwick. He seems laid back but gets the job done.

"The green earth, say you? That is a mighty matter of legend," said Aragorn, "though you tread it under the light of day!"

I would have to say that my favorite is Lupin and then McGonagall. They both had opposite ways of teaching the kids, but they both know their topics well and care greatly about the students. !!!

As a teacher myself, McGonagall appeals to me the most. She's strict, but fair, consistent and committed to the student's complete education. I also can appreciate Lupin for his generosity and concern, Snape for his fortitudinous and Mad-Eye (Barty Jr.) for his raw honesty and commitment.

I would have to say Professor Snape, because he's strict and he's good at what he does. I would also say Professor McGonagall, because she is fair but strict and commited to what she does.

Yes, its got to be Professor McGonagall
She has: firm discipline, high expectations, high amount of skill and knowledge of her subject, is fair and consistent with her pupils, good humour, inspires her pupils to achieve their maximum potential.
That about does it.
Moody and Lupin were also excellent, real experience of their subject, hands on practical teaching.
Snape is highly skilled in his subject and has firm discipline, but he lets himself down by operating a climate of fear that is fear of failure, not a highly motivating environment for learning, also has his favourites.

If I could choose a teacher I'd go for Dumbledore, he's fascinating wizard, he can teach many things and I like his kindness for all students, even those who haven't deserved it.

McGonagall, Lupin and Snape would be the best. I love potions... :P
I agree with Watschel, Lupin is much more fun then the rest of the teachers in hogwarts. I like his class on the third movie [Prisoner of Azkaban] That's amazing. "RIDIKULUS"... I like saying that... LOL :P

I think it would be Lupin or McGonagall or Snape or Dumbledore. It can't be Moody actually 'cause we really didn't see him teaching at Hogwarts. It wasn't him, it was simply a potion trick, so we can't say Moody B)

Maybe "Moody". (Crouch)

My opinion:

Flitwick - A good teacher, but if a student sat on him, they would immediately kill him.
Sprout - An alright teacher, but rather fat. If she fell on any of her students then she'd be sent straight to Azkaban!
Hagrid - Not that good a teacher, to be quite honest with you. He has the knowledge but can't control the class.
Snape - The worst teacher ever. Has the knowledge definately, but could affect the student's (who aren't in Slytherin's) futures. That's why I've never liked him, even after reading the seventh book!
Lockhart - Could cause the students to lose concentration whilst daydreaming about him.
Quirrel - We're not given much information as to whether he's a good teacher or not.
Trelawney - Stupid old bat who needs to be hit on the nose with a frying pan.
McGonagall - A very good teacher, but very strict. Her lips freak me out... has she ever kissed anyone..?
Lupin - A very good teacher, also! Has the knowledge, the ability and knows how to control the class.
Grubbly-Plank - A very good teacher but very underrated... she's much better than Hagrid as a teacher!
Umbridge - Needs to be thrown off the nearest cliff immediately.

I think that is it my dear ones.

I think McGonagall and Lupin are the best because McGoagll taught the class well and managed to keep them under control unlike Flitwick whose classes always seemed to be really loud. Lupin because he did the same and made it fun. Snape was too unfair to be a good teacher.
