Every year my mom and I go down to my aunt and uncle's in Indiana for Thanksgiving. Every year we go see a movie. I want to suggest we see GOF. However, some of my family is deeply religious and they think HP is evil. I don't want to offend anyone by suggesting the movie but I really want to go. If I suggest it they would go crazy. Last year my mom suggested we go see Polar Express which is a childrens movie about Santa Claus and Christams. They refused to see it becasue it was about Santa, and not Jesus (the true reason Christmas is celebrated). They already think I am going to hell because at my house we celebrate Halloween. What should I do? If I don't see GOF at Thanksgiving I wont get to see it until my birthday (December 16) becasue right now we are short on cash and movies are for special occasions. My mom says that we could see it together and that no one else has to go. What should I do?
"Wolf is the Grand Teacher. Wolf is the sage, who after many winters upon the sacred path and seeking the ways of wisdom, returns to share new knowledge with the tribe. Wolf is both the radical and the traditional in the same breath. When the Wolf walks by you - you will remember."

Obviously, your aunt and uncle do not have the same taste in movies as your family. If you only get to do movies for special occasions, and your mum is willing to take the heat for letting you see a movie that includes the incarnation of the devil himself, go to GoF. Maybe you should discuss it with her before hand so she can let them know ahead of time and not have a big scene about it.

At any rate, HP and LotR are about the only films we go to the cinema for, so yeah, the big screen is a rare thing at our house, too.

BTW, I'm deeply religious, too, but I love HP!

I think the best thing to do is go together with your mum, as she suggested. Your mum isn't as religious as your aunt and uncle, is she? So, if you go together with your mum, no one will be offended, and you can see it! I hope it'll work for you,

I think you should just tell them.

Just tell them that if they would like to go with you, they may, but that GoF will be the movie you will seee that time.

Not saying it's that simple, but you should just tell them that you believe differently than them.

Good luck with it!

My answer is that you should go ahead and ask her and when you have asked get her into it by having a meeting and talk about it that might work... it does for me anyway.
