i tell u wat...i never ever thought i'll think someday that Lucius Malfoy is sexy...but he is darn sexy...i mean that man's absolutely marvelous...he is Malfoy Senior...i believe that after Rickman, he's the perfect cast in the film....

I didn't use to think that Jason Isaacs was sexy but I absolutely loved his performance as Lucius Malfoy in COS. So evil and menacing - it was brilliant.

Then at New Year I went to see Peter Pan at the cinema, excellent film by the way, and that's when it happened. When Wendy became 'enchanted' by Captain Hook, I did also. I thought he looked very gorgeous and sexy on screen - it was mesmerising.

Of course now I have to be careful to think 'evil, low-life, prejudiced death eater snob' when I see Jason in the 4th film. Lucius Malfoy cannot be good looking in my opinion.

Uggh! The effect the films have on the story. I've named it the Alan Rickman effect due to the sudden no. of female Snape fans that emerged after the films came out. Basically it's when a character in the HP series gets a new fanbase after portrayal by a particular actor/ actress in the movie(s). The same effect seems to have happened with Tom/Draco and I think it might just happen with Jason/ Lucius too.

LOL. It's very true. It IS Draco in the books ... he is such a humongous prick that I really hate him and cannot think of him ever as good-looking, yet when I see the movies Tom Felton is so, well, lovely looking, that I can't help but wish that Harry could lose out for once. (An intense Alan Rickman effect). I had a quite disturbing conversation about Jason Isaacs in my school library with some of the freshman (can you tell I was bored?). All three of them practically said at the same time, AAAAKAHEGIOH JASON ISAACS AIEOAGHAKL;F and began to proclaim his hot qualities both in Peter Pan and in the Prisoner of Azkaban. They went to a picture site, completely bypassed Daniel Radcliffe, and went straight to the 40-year-old man. lol.

*sigh* It's happened to me, although I actually sorta liked draco before the movies came out...

I know...I'm a lil insane. But that's okay. Hehe. I think the malfoys are quite cute in the movies. Forget cute...hot! Phwoar. It should be interesting to see what Draco's mum looks like. Hehe. Maybe he got all the good looks from his dad? *shrugs* Meh. I can't wait for the fourth movie! lol. Almost a year and a half to wait. *sobs* I'll have to go see POA again to console myself.

I dunno, I never liked Lucius much and I'm still not fond of his character, but Jason Isaacs is awesome, so it's all good. The Alan Rickman effect sort of got me... Actually, it was more the Tess effect than anything else that got me to love Snape. *grins*

Well being a male, I am not as enamoured by Jason as some of you here at The Snitch... That being said. I do agree that Jason Isaacs has to be one of the most superbly casted characters in Harry Potter. He IS Lucius Malfoy. And he is a very great actor who I will go see movies he is in, just because he is in them. No matter how bad they are *cough* Tuxedo *cough* lol

I think he's perfect for the part! I don't 'like' Lucius Malfoy in any way, shape or form in the books and to tell you the truth I'm not too keen on the blond hair *grin* but he is fantastic! (and yes, I do think he's sexxeh) I remember when I saw COS for the first time and he just stood out as one of the BEST actors in it! He just made sense as the part, he's so good at playing evil guys!

Hmmm...I watched CoS again the other day...and I have to agree, as much as it pains me to say he is sexy, he is!! When he's all "Now now, play nicely" or whatever...it's all...look at my chiselled features, my sparkling blue eyes...

I don't think it's just the Lucius thing though...I mean, he's clearly just a hot man!! Buuut I think some of it is totally the...unsmiling, smooth talking, bad bad man appeal that comes along with being a Malfoy...

And I can't believe I've just said any of that...I've never been enamoured to a Malfoy before

As for Alan Rickman, the man clearly has the voice of God, but I was as much of a Snape fan before him being cast as I am now...but yeah, I think it's pretty much the same thing...it's like..."You cast ALAN RICKMAN as an "ugly, greasy git"...oookey dokey" *women of all ages swoon*

can`t believe my luck of mel gibson and jason isaacs acting in the same movie (i love mel gibson;-))

besides alan rickman, jason isaacs is one of my faves in the harry potter cast
he should get a lot more scenes. does anyone know whether he will do the next movies,too? i`d love to see him in the 5th

Lucius is definitely beautiful - in fact I was just saying the other day how difficult it is to believe that either Lucius or Draco are bad in the movies when the individuals who portray them are so visually appealing... the casting director(s) for these movies has certainly done a good job of providing visual treats for viewers of all ages.

That being said, if I am forced to choose between Rickman and Isaacs, I must go with Rickman. But I would prefer not to choose at all. Long live the Alan Rickman effect!

Jason Isaacs is yummy, I find myself just watching the scenes from CoS with him in and skipping the rest ( apart from Snape moments obviously), I keep watching Black Hawk Down and Windtalkers as well.
Did anyone see the interview he and Orlando Bloom did on the Johnny Vaughn show? I have it on my comp so I can letch at JI while I'm doing some ( supposed) work.

I loved Jason in Peter Pan he brought (dare I say it) a weird kind of sexyness to Captain Hook, Ive watched that film I dont know how many times just because of him. He makes bad look good, nay.. SEXY!!

There seems to be a trend here: ALL the bad guys are real hotties.

I think Alan Rickman is sexy as all get out as Snape, then you add Jason Isaacs as Lucious Malfoy (have drool towel handy) and, in GOF, RALPH FIENNES is playing Lord Voldemort. Ralph Fiennes is GORGEOUS!!

These three could definately convince me to turn to the Dark Side. Mwahahahaha!

I agree with his extreem acting ability, it takes someone with his talent to play the characters he plays. I remember him only as the "bad" guy from all the movies I've seen him in (cannot remember all that I've seen). As a guy, I don't have the same appreciation for him as you ladies on the board, but I hope to be as distinguished as him in 20 years. Being a musician/model/actor (unfortunetly not professional in the second two anymore, but I'm in the studio in a few weeks!), having that kind of a persona helps in a career, and I don't think he'll lose any parts to a younger, more eye appealing man. He could portray a character in a silent movie to a room full of blind people, and they would still get the full affect. Kudos to Jason Issacs, if anyone deserves more recognition in these movies, it is him.

Only thing iI disagree with is Draco/Tom. I think he does a pretty decent job acting, but attractive? I find him to look like a wuss. I guess it's true that men never will understand women.

I have to agree that Jason Isaacs is really good looking, and that he is perfect as Lucius. I think he was my favorite character on CoS. He played the part so well.

Jason was so good at being evil that you actully felt sympathetic toward Draco, and thats a pretty big acomplishment! I cant wait to see him again in Goblet of Fire, and again in Phoenix!

You'll never believe this but, after watching the Patriot about a hundred times with my hubbie before CoS came out I was like that guy would be perfect for Lucius Malfoy except for the hair. I didn't even know his name at the time. And low and behold there he is.
And I have to say he is very easy on the eyes.
